Dec 2, 2008 - "Video games cannot give you love. ""Clearly you've never played The Sims ""If you personally get love from playing the sims you have issues."Umm I was just joking. I think...

Dec 2, 2008 - I thought you were but you can never be sure with people on youtube ive heard some pretty stupid things. =)
featheredmusic Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - why not? is love something magical? our brains have emotions for it which is triggered by outside sensors, and we can't trigger those sensors in a multimedia? pretty closed minded view u got there
featheredmusic Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - well that depends on what u find beautiful doesn't it? your idea of a beauty can be quite different from mine, dont be so closed minded
featheredmusic Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - well he said he had an addiction, i don't think it's really the quality of the graphics that his really addicted to.
featheredmusic Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - so what is your fuss against this college student? he expressed an interesting point of view, why don't u do something like that. Because u sound like a bitter person, much more boring than the addict
brokenjohnny Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - You totally missed my point.

Dec 2, 2008 - OK, I'll try not to be so closed minded in future. Thanks for the advice.

Dec 2, 2008 - actually, most of the time computer generated ones are better than real world sunsets.....lol, sometimes however real life sunsets can be more spectacular than ingame ones.
ozmo82 Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - wow that guy really missed the point of the video and what it was trying to the student was saying that video has wreck his life and he can not tell the difference between real world and video and the guy speaking tryed to flip it around saying that video games one day will make you have emotions. i grew up playing video games and still do.. but video games and computer and wrecking the young lifes 85% of youth in the usa are overweight because they don't get out and play the play
ozmo82 Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - video games instead of going outside and playing and playing games online like xbox live you have 6 year olds knowing more swear words than i do. how are video ever going to better than real life they won't they will only mesh up things even more. the more and more real that they get more people will start to believe that it is just like real life.. i can kill someone in a game and nothing happens so why don't i kill someone in real life. i'm not against video at all. but we have to keep
ozmo82 Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - the line between real life and the video game. there are people and will be more people that won't beable to tell the difference between games and real and if that line is crossed than the world as we know it will be gone
TrueDisbelievin Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - That is Doom, originally a PC game. I think it came out around 1991. It's probably considered the first great FPS ever.
peterphilip Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - video games + internet + 20 more years = more addictive than heroin
punkslashhippy Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - thats the thing he's trying to prove... granted thru a fair bit of artistic licence.at the moment altho not terribly realistic i could experince flying a flight sim and get a certain rush from itbut imagine the time when games mirror the realism of..well...real"you can't turn reality off if you don't like it."? the majority of people play games for escapism, as do they read books or watch tv.it may not be real but it can effect you in very real ways, has tv ever made you cry?
punkslashhippy Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - personally i do believe the whole emotion thing of games and for those in doubt; imagine you could control a character of your favourite sit com, soap movie or novel..millions of people get emotionally attached to fictional characters they've never interacted with. in games you could have that interaction. be it advanced ai (in the gaming sense not sci-fi) or a real person acting a persona.this talk was, as he said about the future, and the possibilites they can bring.
punkslashhippy Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - but i also believe that; if games are going to be a big part of our future, then there need to be a couple of big changes.i think the wii that incorporates low level exercise and fun is aimed at the wrong people. or too few.its a casual gamers platform, the hardcore gamers tend to be more PC, 360 and ps3 inclined. with better graphics higher mem etc. i think that an interface that involves body movement and exercise instead of pushing buttons would be far beneficial and perhaps more fun.
Entertainmentwf Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - How does the Wii aim the wrong people, or too few? They aim all ages, it's the Nintendo way, they'll even tell you that :P. From a game developer's perspective (me) I believe we need to standardize games (notice the rise in violence levels increasing in games), ESRB is good but, the grip really needs to be firm. I believe Wii takes a great movement to the future while the other consoles just do what Nintendo reinvented in the mid 1980's. I just feel this violence level needs to be fixed.
Entertainmentwf Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - This is just my opinion but I personally believe Video Game courses are a very poor way to learn how to make games. It teaches you a very limited amount of computer interactivity and just restricts it. I personally believe you have to have a passion to be creative, and be original and amazing. I definitely think studying Computer Science is an essential to be a good developer because you'll have all the tools and a new way of thinking rather than a restricted view given by a college.
Devilsnightforlife Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - Actually i think the violence level is quite fine - though more educational videos could be an improvement.Studies have shown that countries or groups that watches more porn on the internet are less inclined to go out and rape someone - The porn taps your lusts so you wont have them out in the open. The same i think would be said about violence - most(all?) persons have a certain need to let go of their anger or stress built up, and what is a more perfect place to do that than in a videogame?
nedloh2 Says:
Dec 2, 2008 - why is this video not available anymore? it was really good!!!
