WHY?Recapitulation is a comedy ensemble founded by actors in the Chicago improv comedy community to bring musically-related comedy to the masses.WHO?Recapitulation is an original musical comedy ensemble performing both short-form and long-form musical improvisation. It was founded in Chicago, IL in 2006 as a result of a group of actors desiring to carry on long-form musical improvisation shows after meeting, training and performing on various theatre stages.Ensemble members have appeared on stage, in film, in radio, on television and in commercials.Most of the members come from Chicagos improv community: The Second City, Improv Olympic (iO), The Annoyance Theatre, and Comedy Sportz. Some have studied at top collegiate theater programs in the nation.WHATRecapitulation performsMusical Improvisational Comedy - spontaneous, unrehearsed, off the cuff comedy based from audience suggestions. They perform both long form musical improvisation where a single word or phrase from the audience at the top of the show can generate an entire 5 to 50 minute musical, and short form musical improv games that have more audience involvement.Customized Shows - Recapitulation performs adult, all-ages, and special event shows.Got any other questions?
